Preparation course presented by an instructor.
You will take a prep course with Tom Morris, a T-1 simulator instructor at CAFB. Talking a class allows you the opportunity to can ask questions. You will also be provided with quick tips to help you with those tricky questions. Because of the quality of this prep course, most people complete the test in less than 20 minutes.
Free FAA testing at CAFB or Saturday testing at Columbus-Lowndes County Airport, your choice.
You take the test for your commercial certificate at the testing center of your choice. CAFB offers free testing. Columbus-Lowndes County Airport testing center charges $175 to take the test, which is a separate fee.
Assistance with required certificates.
You will be provided with assistance with gathering the proper certificates required to get your commercial certificate.
Assistance with required application.
You will be provided with assistance with completing the required application for getting your commercial certificate so you do not miss any ratings.
FAA records review.
Your FAA records will be reviewed for discrepancies by a CFI prior to your meeting with the FAA Designated Examiner to make sure they are in order so you have no problems getting your certificate.
Identification review.
Your identification is reviewed at the intial phase of the process so your name is correct on your test results so that you do not have problems when you apply for a certificate. Name issues are a common problem that need to be resolved before testing. The FAA has strict requirements for name matching on documentation so it is critical that this step is done.
Graduation paperwork.
Your graduation paperwork required by the FAA is checked to make sure it is in order so you do not miss any ratings.
FAA Military Competency Designated Pilot Examiner.
An appointment with the FAA Military Competency Designated Pilot Examiner will be scheduled for you. The Designated Examiner who will issue your commercial license has extensive experience working with military pilots and is familiar with the paperwork needed for the certificate. The meeting will take about 10 minutes because of advance preparation. You are required to meet with an FAA official to get your commercial certificate. The Designated Examiner does not get paid by the FAA so the Designated Examiner must charge a fee. The Designated Examiner's fee is included in the price.
